About the author

My name is Lina, and I am a first-year student at Valencia College. I came from Ukraine and now study in Orlando, Florida, building toward a future as a radiologic technologist. In this ePortfolio, I am not a queen of any kingdom, but I am the ruler of my own story. ENC 1101 taught me that writing is more than assignments — it is my sword, my shield, and sometimes my dragon.

My writing journey

Two years ago, I crossed my own Narrow Sea from Ukraine to the United States. Since then, writing in English has been like learning the language of a new kingdom: new laws, new customs, new expectations.

Beyond the page

Besides writing, I bring a unique perspective shaped by my experiences moving from Ukraine to the United States. This journey has instilled in me adaptability, resilience, and a deep appreciation for cross-cultural communication, all of which enrich my approach to writing and problem-solving.
